About Dopamine Shop

Shop everything. Buy nothing. A free, playable parody of online shopping.

What this site is

Dopamine Shop is a free, ad-supported entertainment website โ€” a fully playable parody of an online megastore. You browse over a thousand fake products, add them to a cart, and go through a complete checkout. Nothing ships. Nothing is charged. The total is always $0.00, and the receipt shows what you didn't spend. The fun is the ritual: the browsing, the deal-hunting, the little rush of "add to cart" โ€” with the purchase amputated.

Why we built it

The idea comes from South Korea's "dopamine sites" (๋„ํŒŒ๋ฏผ ์‚ฌ์ดํŠธ) โ€” fake stores and fake food-delivery apps people use on purpose to get the pleasure of ordering without the bill. The science behind it is real: the dopamine spike from shopping comes mostly from anticipation โ€” browsing, choosing, carting โ€” not from the package arriving. A fake store keeps the part your brain actually enjoys and deletes the part your bank account regrets.

For some people it's a toy. For others it's a genuinely useful pressure valve: a place to redirect a 1 a.m. impulse-buy urge, ride it out, and close the tab with your money intact. We write about that psychology โ€” impulse spending, retail therapy, dark patterns, and how to resist them โ€” on our blog, which now covers nearly 200 articles on the psychology of spending.

How it works

  1. Browse anything from a $0.99 pet rock to a $99M moon, across 25 departments.
  2. Add to cart. Enjoy the little dopamine pop โ€” confetti included.
  3. Check out โ€” pay nothing. No payment info is ever requested.
  4. Watch your fake order "ship," then get a receipt of what you didn't spend.
  5. Optionally, join the leaderboard and compete on "almost-spent" totals. Share the receipt. Brag about your self-control.

Who runs it

Dopamine Shop is built and operated by Fenwick Holdings LLC, a small independent studio in the United States. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any real retailer. Product names and images are invented or generic; any resemblance to real listings is parody.

How the site makes money

The site is free and always will be โ€” a fake store that charged money would be missing the point. It's supported by clearly-labeled advertising. We never sell products, collect payment details, or charge for features. See our Privacy Policy for how ads and cookies work here.
